Evening Classical Concerts
In addition to regular lunchtime recitals, St Olave’s is the venue for a number of evening concerts throughout the year.
Depending on how these events are organised, there may be a charge for admission or else admission will be free, but with a retiring collection to cover the artists’ expenses. Sometimes there are refreshments.
As with our lunchtime recitals, the church attracts both established performers and those at an earlier stage of their careers. The acoustic is well suited to a wide variety of solo and ensemble music, including song and small orchestras and choirs.
Details of evening concerts are given on our Events page.
If you are interested in giving an evening concert at St Olave’s as well as to discuss terms and conditions, please contact Phil Manning.
The Lascelles Concerts
These consist of a single concert or series of concerts each year, usually in the summer months, in memory of Major-General Anthony Lascelles CB CBE DSO, who was a great supporter of the musical life of St Olave’s.
Thanks to the generosity of the late Major-General, St Olave’s is able to allocate an annual sum towards the funding of these concerts, which are organised by Michael Gammie.
